Hire a Student Fundraiser

The Concordia Concert choir is renting out its students as a fundraiser to offset the costs of a choir tour to England in the spring of 2010. The choir members can be hired out in the community for light yard work , snow shoveling, Christmas decorating, or even light home renovations. Rates are $15/hr per student. They are available immediately and throughout the Christmas break (they’ll even do your last minute shopping!). The program will continue into the new year. For more information contact Chelsea Verheijen @ ducello@hotmail.com

Concordia Creates Student Food Bank

Concordia creates Student Food Bank: Tough economic times have hit Concordia students as hard as anyone. On top of the responsibility of tuition and studies, many students are finding it difficult to make ends meet because usually abundant part-time work isn’t available. To offset the strain many students are experiencing, Concordia is creating a student food bank. Concordia is installing shelving and setting aside an area of the Peter Schiemann Student Centre to house donated food. If you would like to make a donation, please contact Karen Hildebrandt, at karen.hildebrandt@concordia.ab.ca

CCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS: CONCORDIA THUNDER WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM

The CCAA Women’s Soccer National crown now rests upon the heads of Edmonton’s Concordia University Thunder as they defeated London’s Fanshawe College Falcons in one of the most memorable championship games in history. In the dying seconds of extra time of the second half, Laura Ellis of the Thunder scored an 18 yard rocket that bended about 15 feet and struck the inside of goalpost, coming to rest in the opposite corner. The goal sealed the game and secured Concordia their first ever Women’s Soccer National Championship Gold Medal. Click here for more details...

EARN A MASTER OF ARTS AT CONCORDIA

In autumn of 2009 Concordia University College of Alberta will offer students a Master of Arts in Biblical and Christian Studies. Students will receive instruction in a specialized field of study. A wide-range of subjects is offered in three areas of concentration including Old Testament, Studies, New Testament Studies, and Christian Theology and History. Class sizes are small, which enables our professors and instructors to work with students at a more personal level. Smaller class sizes also translate into a variety of learning opportunities– individual, pairs, small groups, and seminars.
